Job Description

Power Industry Support, LLC is actively recruiting an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician at the ReGenerate Stratton Plant located in Stratton, ME. The facility is a 48 NMW Biomass power plant.

Wage can vary depending on knowledge and experience ($35+/Hr). The hiring company offers a competitive benefits package that includes a 401K and provides a range of benefit options that will cover your wellness needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing all electronic and electrical systems and equipment in the plant, within standards and codes as it applies to an industrial power generation facility.
  • Install, operate, and maintain all plant instrumentation and process control equipment.
  • Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment, such as motors, switchgear, wiring, cables, lighting fixtures, etc.
  • Perform routine calibrations on all plant instrumentation to ensure accurate operating and control data.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate electronic and electrical problems; implement corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Read and interpret plans, diagrams and specifications.
  • Provide estimates of time and materials required; requisition tools and supplies in accordance with established procedures.
  • Plan and lay out work in accordance with applicable standards and codes.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation and reports, as required.
  • Recommend changes to improve efficiency and/or quality of electronic and/or electrical operations, as appropriate.
  • Perform assigned duties in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma with a minimum five (5) years power generation or equivalent experience
  • Strong familiarity with Electrical Safety practices and Arc Flash Hazard Awareness.
  • Experience working with NFPA 70 NEC standard and have current training in NFPA 70 NEC
  • Ability to work with electrical systems with voltage ranging from 24 VDC to 13.8 kV.
  • Ability to read and understand schematic, blueprints and logic diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and replace 3-phase motors up to 4160V
  • Ability to troubleshoot, replace, and calibrate plant process instrumentation
  • Experience with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems a plus
  • Experience with Schneider Electric Foxboro IA/EVO dcs systems a plus
  • Experience with PLC’s and Allen Bradley PLC systems a plus
  • Experience with VFD’s installation and programming a plus
